Living as a Family on the Road (FOTR), full-time in a RV, with two Teenagers and a Portuguese Water Dog touring the US and Canada for three years is “The Grand Adventure.” It was hard to let go of our Orange County, CA lifestyle, but the dream was compelling. Dave and Sarah self-direct their high-school curriculum using internet classes and interests inspired by location, museums and geography. Setting free has been the hardest and easiest thing we’ve ever done and the memories are priceless.
Today's a travel day. Last night Sarah made a fantastic soup mostly carrots, leaks and onions, to use up much of our produce that can't be brought back across the border. We also enjoyed the last of our Canadian farmstand fruit - ambrosia apples and pears. I already wish we had more of that homemade apple juice. Montana, here we come!
