Living as a Family on the Road (FOTR), full-time in a RV, with two Teenagers and a Portuguese Water Dog touring the US and Canada for three years is “The Grand Adventure.” It was hard to let go of our Orange County, CA lifestyle, but the dream was compelling. Dave and Sarah self-direct their high-school curriculum using internet classes and interests inspired by location, museums and geography. Setting free has been the hardest and easiest thing we’ve ever done and the memories are priceless.

This site is to keep you up to date on our travels and adventures. We'd love for you to join up with us, so I'll try to keep a 8 week itinerary posted. We'll gladly pick you up from a major airport and suggest options for lodging.

The perfect campsite has lots of trees, places to walk, and WIFI. Education on the road is plentiful -- we've found that there are museums, parks and historical landmarks than we can visit. The kid's new motto is the unschooling joke:
Oh no!
Not another learning experience!
The hardest part of this trip has been separating from our friends. It is my hope that this site will make the miles seem closer.
