Living as a Family on the Road (FOTR), full-time in a RV, with two Teenagers and a Portuguese Water Dog touring the US and Canada for three years is “The Grand Adventure.” It was hard to let go of our Orange County, CA lifestyle, but the dream was compelling. Dave and Sarah self-direct their high-school curriculum using internet classes and interests inspired by location, museums and geography. Setting free has been the hardest and easiest thing we’ve ever done and the memories are priceless.
While we were waiting for the RV to be checked out for the mystery creaking (the bolts for the steering column needed to be redone -- but it took two more months to figure that out -- sigh...), we went to San Simeon for the day.
It was too hot to leave Mayim in the car while we went to Hearst Castle, so Dave went swimming in the ocean and we had lunch in Cambria.
